At least 12 people were injured in explosions that rocked a weapons warehouse at the Burj al-Shamali camp in south Lebanon's Tyre city Friday night.

The warehouse belongs to the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Preliminary information revealed that a fire erupted in diesel reservoirs located in the area and then spread to the weapons warehouse which caused several explosions.

Lebanon's State Prosecutor of Appeal in the South Judge Rahif Ramadan assigned on Friday security agencies to inspect the weapons warehouse.

Security agencies also started an investigation into the incident.
