India's COVID-19 tally rises to 34,740,275

NEW DELHI, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- India's COVID-19 tally rose to 34,740,275 on Sunday, as 7,081 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.

Besides, as many as 264 deaths due to the pandemic since Saturday morning took the total death toll to 477,422.

There are still 83,913 active COVID-19 cases in the country. "India's active caseload is the lowest in the past 570 days," said an official statement by the federal health ministry.

A total of 34,178,940 people have been successfully cured and discharged from hospitals so far, out of which 7,469 were discharged during the past 24 hours. Enditem
