YAOUNDE, March 16 (Xinhua) -- Cameroon reported a new imported case of COVID-19, bringing the total number of contamination to five, according to a statement released Monday by the Cameroonian Ministry of Public Health.
The patient is a 46-year-old woman living in Strasbourg in France. She arrived in Cameroon on March 3, and is currently being taken care of.
According to a tweet from the Cameroonian Minister of Public Health Manaouda Malachie, the patient is in the capital Yaounde.
Last weekend, Cameroon reported two confirmed cases, all imported from Europe. So far, the country has detected five cases of the pandemic. The first case was announced on March 6.
