RABAT, April 27 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from the novel coronavirus reached 162 in Morocco among the 4,120 confirmed cases, the Health Ministry said on Monday.
A total of 55 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Monday, while 695 patients have recovered so far, said the ministry's spokesman in his daily briefing.
The most affected regions are Casablanca with 1,075 cases, Marrakech-Safi with 843, and Tangier with 544 cases.
On April 18, Morocco extended the state of medical emergency until May 20 in an effort to strengthen preventive measures to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus.
A nationwide curfew for a month, starting April 25, was installed. Enditem
