DAR ES SALAAM, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian President John Magufuli on Saturday appointed Mwigulu Nchemba as Minister for Constitutional Affairs and Justice, the presidency said in a statement.
The statement from the Directorate of Presidential Communications at State House said Nchemba replaced Augustine Mahiga who died on Friday in the capital Dodoma.
Nchemba, a Member of Parliament for Iramba West, was sacked as Home Affairs Minister on July 1, 2018 by President Magufuli in a mini-cabinet reshuffle.
Nchemba was replaced by Kangi Lugola who then served as Deputy Minister in the Vice-President's Office responsible for Environment.
However, Magufuli sacked Lugola from the home affairs docket in January 2020 over graft allegations. Enditem
