Afghan air raids kill 12 militants in eastern Nangarhar province

JALALABAD, Afghanistan, Feb. 19 (Xinhua) -- A total of 12 militants have been killed as fighting planes struck Taliban hideouts in Mohmandara district of Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province on Tuesday, said an army statement on Wednesday.

No security personnel and civilians were hurt during the airstrikes, said the statement.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Nangarhar and the neighboring Kunar and Nuristan provinces have not commented.
