6.6-magnitude quake strikes Japan's Torishima Island, no tsunami warning issued

TOKYO, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 on Monday struck Japan's Torishima Island, Tokyo Prefecture, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.

The temblor occurred at around 9:41 p.m. local time, with its epicenter at a latitude of 31.1 degrees north and a longitude of 142.8 degrees east, and at depth of 10 km.

The quake logged two in some parts of Tokyo Prefecture on the Japanese seismic intensity scale which peaks at seven.

So far no tsunami warning has been issued. Enditem
