YANGON, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Over 12 million people have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 across Myanmar as of Saturday, according to a release from the Ministry of Health on Sunday.
Over 5 million people have received the first jab of COVID-19 vaccines as of Saturday, the release said.
According to the ministry's figures, Myanmar reported 285 new COVID-19 cases with daily test positivity rate of 1.83 percent and six more deaths in the past 24 hours.
The number of COVID-19 infections has risen to 524,407 while its death toll has reached 19,141 in the country on Sunday.
A total of 500,304 patients have been discharged from hospitals and over 5.68 million samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far.
Myanmar detected its first two COVID-19 positive cases on March 23 last year. Enditem
