LONDON, Jan. 14 (Xinhua) -- Britain's furniture retailer DFS Furniture plc (DFS) Tuesday revealed a 6 percent drop in gross sales year-on-year for the 26-week period ending Dec. 29, 2019.
The drop reflected "a challenging consumer environment, particularly in August and September 2019," said the group.
Still, the DFS expected its full year profit before tax and brand amortisation to be "broadly in line with market expectations."
Mindful of the broader political and economic uncertainty that still exists, the group said it would take appropriate cost saving actions to "mitigate continued market weakness."
Listed on the London Stock Exchange, the DFS operates a retail network of living room furniture stores in Britain and Europe, together with an online channel.
