COVID-19 cases in U.S. top 7,000: Johns Hopkins University

NEW YORK, March 18 (Xinhua) -- The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States has topped 7,000 by 1 p.m. local time Wednesday (1700 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.

The fresh figure reached 7,324 with 115 deaths, the CSSE said.
