NICOSIA, March 13 (Xinhua) -- All football games of all leagues across the board were suspended until the end of March, as part of measures to stop the spread of the coronavirus, the Cyprus football association (CFA) announced on Friday.
It said the decision was made following consultations with the European football governing body UEFA and the state's health authorities.
The CFA said its priority was the health of the footballers and the people connected with the sport and it urged clubs to restrict training and other activities.
It added that the decision to suspend matches until the end of March will be reviewed when deemed necessary.
Health authorities had already banned by presence of fans in football games.
